Ian Palmer
Ian joined the industry in 1979 after ten years as an Army Officer, during which time he also studied International Politics at the University of Aberystwyth. He initially trained as a financial adviser with a Canadian Life Assurance Company. In 1986 he decided to become independent in order to provide an enhanced service for his clients.
He formed Palmer Lane and Co in 1991 with fellow adviser Phil Lane and attained the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate in 2004. Ian specialises in IHT, Pension and Investment Planning.
In his spare time, he enjoys mountain walking, skiing and sailing.
Jeremy Freeman
Jeremy joined Palmer Lane in January 2006. He was born in 1968 and lives in Gowerton with his wife and three sons.
Jeremy entered the Financial Services arena in 1987, initially involved in banking and finance. Jeremy became an independent financial adviser in 1995 advising clients on investment and tax planning issues.
Over the years Jeremy has worked closely with law firms and accountancy practices culminating with him holding an executive role within a major banking organisation liaising with and advising law firms in the south.
More recently Jeremy has specialised in advising corporate clients from South Wales to Central London on pension strategies and group risk issues.
In his spare time, Jeremy coaches Junior Rugby at Gowerton RFC, and spends time with his family.
Frances Palmer
Frances joined Palmer Lane in January 2007. She entered the Financial Services industry in 1986, after graduating from Reading University with an honours degree in French and Economics. Frances spent several years working for product providers within the industry, before becoming an IFA in January 2000.
During her career as an IFA, Frances has worked closely with accountants and solicitors. She looks after a diverse range of clients, but specialises in investment, inheritance tax and pension planning.
Frances has worked hard to improve her professionalism over the years, by increasing her qualifications. She has achieved Chartered Financial Planner status, and is now the Technical Director of Palmer Lane.
Frances is married to Ian, and they live in the Vale of Glamorgan with their daughter Lucy. Lucy dominates her spare time, but when time permits she also enjoys mountain walking, ski-ing and sailing.
John Bisatt
John was invited to join the financial services industry by a friend in 1982, having previously been financial director of a private manufacturing company.
John has worked for two large national advisers. During his career he has worked closely with local firms of solicitors and accountants, where specialist advice was needed. In addition he has given a large number of retirement and redundancy seminars, held by employers for the benefit of their staff at a time when careful financial planning is paramount.
His son is in the army, and he lives with his wife, Muriel. Over the years they have both had an interest in the breeding and showing of Bullmastiffs, and John had judged the breed both in the UK and on the Continent. He describes himself a reluctant gardener but has many scars to testify to his DIY prowess.
